Latest Gallup Poll is out and reports some very interesting results regarding home values. Homeowner perception is that their home’s value will increase or stay the same.
A summary to the above charts follows.
Two in three homeowners (66%) say the value of their home increased in the past year, while 23% say it stayed the same and 10% say it decreased. Looking ahead, just 41% of Americans expect the value of their home to increase during the next year; 43% of homeowners say the value will stay the same and 13% say it will decrease.
Bottom line is that homeowners are optimistic and in the minority are those that feel their home’s value will decrease. Could this optimism be part of the reason that Chicago median prices are slow to decline in this “buyer’s market”? Check out the entire report as there are a number of other interesting results.
