My wife and I are currently in the process of enrolling our 2 year old daughter in a Chicago pre-school program. In a conversation with another Chicago parent I was asked how we were “socializing” her…huh? Scrambling for a response I replied, “No, she is being raised capitalist, we’re not socialists.” I had no idea, and still have no idea what “socializing” really means, but think it means getting her around other kids her age so she can develop social skills. In the old days think they called it playing. I kid, but what better way to socialize than going to pre-school? As with all things education related in Chicago, the process is not simple. Will let you know my findings as we get into the process. In the meantime, the new 2007 Chicago Public School directories are now available. Huge files so make sure you are at a high speed connection before downloading.
