My daughter loves blueberries and strawberries. As a result, we make frequent trips to the market to restock our supply of fresh fruit. This past Sunday, my wife, daughter, and I stopped at, or rather tried to stop at, our local Whole Foods on the corner of North Avenue and Sheffield. The parking lot was a complete mess with cars circling the lot, battling for the first free parking space. To avoid the chaos we left and headed to another market. I can’t imagine how much money this Whole Foods loses as customers leave to avoid the hassle. To my delight, while reading an article the other day in Crains Business about the development of the Clybourn Corridor all the way to Division, I learned that a new 80,000 square foot Whole Foods will be opening just south at 1500 N. Kingsbury. No more parking hassle makes for easy berry pickin’. Then my mind started spinning. Two Whole Foods markets so close to one another, can’t be I thought? Digging a little deeper looks like the North and Sheffield store will be closing and moving to the new location according to the store website.
