Located at 2559 S. Dearborn, the warehouse that the Lyric Opera of Chicago used as a set design shop will be converted into 93 condos. The building was purchased for $2 million and another $13 million will be poured into the conversion project. The building was rezoned from commercial to residential use last month. Prices will range from $165,000 to $395,000 for a penthouse unit. Condos will have the folllowing profiles:
- 1 bed/1 bath - 830 to 900 square feet
- 2 bed/2 bath - 1,050 to 1,200 square feet
- 3 bed/2 bath - 1,280 to 1,500 square feet
