I’m often asked about the best map and city guide to pick up as a reference.  Have to say I’ve been happy with my Not For Tourists Guide to Chicago. You can purchase the Chicago edition but believe it or not, the guide is now available on their website with PDF maps for each neighborhood available for download. Hey, I’m not old fashioned as I have a number of other online sources for this type of info, but this guide is a great compact reference when out and about in Chicago’s many neighborhoods.  Until they perfect handheld technology, I’m not sold on accessing this kind of graphically rich content via a handheld device.  I would love to hear of any other guides you perfer?
