What Will Happen to Home Values in 2007? This is the question Fortune’s CNNMoney.com asked of Moody’s Economy.com and Fiserv Lending Solutions. The article, 10 best places to own real estate, weighs in on what lies ahead in 2007 for housing in the country’s 100 largest metropolitan areas. Nationwide 63 of the 100 largest metropolitan markets are due to see price appreciation in 2007. The Midwest is described as a steady market.
The region missed out on much of the boom, but at least it won’t suffer the aftermath. None of the Midwestern cities in the forecast are projected to fall.
Chicago is ranked as 41st nationwide and 11th regionally. Prices are expected to rise 2% in 2008 with median prices sitting at $280,740.
